All in all 2013 was a pretty great year for the Arrowhead Inn and Durham. Throughout the year our beloved town turned some heads and got lots of well deserved attention, and we even got a little recognition ourselves. We also witnessed some exciting new openings and events that we hope will become cornerstones of the great community we are a part of. To commemorate the year we’d like to review some of the great happenings in 2013:
|The Raleigh News and Observer calls our bed and breakast|
"a luxury retreat"
While we love the press that helps spread the word about our great city we are especially proud of some of the honors that Durham received in 2013. We’ve known it for a while, but now according to Southern Living its official, Durham is the Tastiest Town in the South. If you haven’t come to test out that title yourself we welcome you to do so in 2014! And once you come to visit our bed and breakfast in Durham, you may just want to stay forever since Durham is now known as one top 100 places to live in the US.

In 2013 we were also able to celebrate some of the events that have contributed to Durham’s history, such as the American Dance Festival, which celebrated its 80th anniversary this summer. The ADF is one of those things you may want to cross off your Bull City Bucket List, these lists, introduced in 2013, are designed to give you an opportunity to find some of the great activities in the Triangle and maybe even win some prizes!
In 2013 we found lots of great activities you’ll only be able to do in Durham, like the heritage events at Historic Stagville. This September marked the first harvest dinner hosted at the historic site, which celebrated Durham’s agricultural and culinary culture. And late in 2013 we learned about a new event to look forward to in Durham, the screening of highly acclaimed independent films at the Carolina Theater. With all of these great happenings in 2013 happening right around our bed and breakfast in Durham, we can’t wait to see what 2014 brings!
