Edvard Munch Exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of Art

Through February 10th the North Carolina Museum of Art is hosting the exhibit Edvard Munch: Symbolism in Print. Though best known for his painting, The Scream, Munch used a variety of media to capture his perspective on humanity. This collection of 26 works of art includes lithographs and woodcuts which provide excellent examples Munch’s exploration of printmaking techniques. These powerful, graphic images have been borrowed from The Museum of Modern Art, and will only remain in the Triangle for a few more weeks.

This exhibit is just one of several currently at the NCMA. Others include explorations of the use of video in art as well as text. And of course the permanent collection of the NCMA and the outdoor sculpture garden provide an opportunity to enjoy great works of art, free of cost!
