From June 13th to July 27th Durham hosts the American Dance Festival, a celebration of the beauty and creativity of modern dance. This six and a half week long festival will feature 47 performances by 25 dance companies and choreographers from around the world. There will be nine world premiers among the performances this season, some of which were created by world famous choreographers such as Twyla Tharp, Rosie Herrera, and Adele Myers. The schedule of performances also features perennial favorites such as the Shen Wei Dance company and Pilobus.
The ADF performances are spread across several Durham venues including the Durham Performing Arts Center, Duke University’s Reynolds Industries Theater, the Nasher Museum of Art, and Motorco Music Hall. No matter where you enjoy the American Dance Festival, you’ll be close to the fantastic restaurants and exciting night life of downtown Durham. Ask your innkeeper to help arrange for reservations at some of our favorite dining hot spots such as Pop’s if you’re in the mood for Italian or Rue Cler for a fantastic three course prix fixe menu using local ingredients in traditional Parisian fare. After the performance you may enjoy stopping by the West End Wine Bar for a glass of red or white. Or if you’re looking for handcrafted cocktails end the evening at Alley 26.
To make your experience at the American Dance Festival even more enjoyable we are offering an ADF Special. If you spend two or more nights at our luxury bed and breakfast in Durham and attend an ADF performance you’ll receive 10% off your room nights.
