Stay at the Arrowhead Inn on Saturday, March 17th for a wonderful Irish treat. Start the celebration with our St. Patrick’s Day Dinner at 6:30 PM on Saturday, featuring all your traditional Irish favorites like Corned Beef and Soda Bread. Then join our chef for a cooking class on Sunday morning at 10:30 AM, since we finally coaxed Chef Phil to share his famous scone recipe which he will pass on to you and guide you through making scones of your own to take home and share (or keep for yourself!) Scope out what the Durham Farmers’ Market has to offer on Saturdays or join the Southern Season Cooking School for their class on March 10th, Farm to Fork: Shop the Farmers’ Market. Head out to the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market with the instructor and take your local treasures back to the kitchen to whip up some seasonal recipes.
Pink Martini Brings International Flair to DPAC
On March 30th Pink Martini swings through Durham for a one night performance at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Known for their fusion of classical, jazz, and old fashion pop the 12 piece orchestra is led by vocalist China Forbes and pianist Thomas Lauderdale. Lauderdale describes the group as “a rollicking around-the-world musical adventure … if the United Nations had a house band in 1962, hopefully we’d be that band.” Tickets for this fantastic show are available through DPAC.
