Tours in the Triangle

After that big Thanksgiving dinner you may be ready to do some walking! Throughout November (and year round) the Triangle has a variety of guided tours perfect for those looking to learn something new while on foot. Whether you’re interested in food, history, beer, or architecture, there is something for everyone.

This walking tour around downtown Durham will have you hankering for a beer and maybe a little spooked. Your guides from Tobacco Road Tours will lead you through four haunted sites in Durham telling tales of paranormal happenings from throughout the city’s history. But don’t worry, there will be plenty of time to enjoy some of the exciting Durham night life at four of the greatest bars in town.

Who better to lead you on a walking tour featuring the architecture of Durham than those who have worked so hard to protect it? Join Preservation Durham at their sign at the Durham Farmers Market in Central Park. This tour will feature the unique beauty of Downtown Durham and the history of Bull City.

This motorized tour led by Tobacco Road Tours will cover the history, culture, architecture, and food of the Bully City. Much of the city’s history is steeped in the tobacco industry, but there’s also a lot to learn about its textile mills, educational institutions, and culture!
