Three Places to Enjoy Outdoor Music Performances in Durham


Music lovers of all types will appreciate the wide variety of outdoor music performances in Durham this summer. Pack a picnic and enjoy the tunes outside all across town.

Back Porch Music on the Lawn

Sponsored by the American Tobacco Historic District and NC Public Radio-WUNC 91.5 FM the Back Porch Music on the Lawn series is in full swing with these upcoming performances:

Friday July 27 - Justin Robinson and the Mary Annettes
Friday August 10 - John Howie Jr and the Rosewood Bluff
Friday August 17 - Bill & Libby Hicks (with friends)
Friday August 24 - The Old Ceremony
Friday September 7 – The Red Clay Ramble

The shows will take place on the lawn at the American Tobacco campus and admission is FREE!

Warehouse Blues Series

Durham Parks and Recreation and the Capitol Broadcasting Company are proud to bring you the 9th annual Warehouse Blues Series which will feature performances by Bullfrog Willard McGhee on July 27th and local legend Cool John Ferguson on August 3rd. These FREE performances take place in Durham Central Park and run from 6 – 8pm.

Music in the Gardens

Tomorrow night (Wednesday, July 25th) marks the last performance in the 2012 Music in the Garden series. Catch Megafaun performing at 7:00pm in the beautiful Sarah P. Duke gardens. Tickets are available for $12, free for those 12 and under.
