May 26th brings the running of Durham’s fifth
annual Doughman Challenge Quadrathalon, the race that combines running, biking,
swimming, and eating! Though registration sold out back in February for this
popular team event the public is till welcome to watch the race and cheer on
the participants. This year the race is helping to support SEEDS,
a non-profit community garden that educates adults and youth through gardening.
Race participants will start and finish at the Durham Centre
Parking Lot (at the corner of Rigsbee and Seminary) and each team member will
complete one athletic leg followed by stop at one of Durham’s fantastic
restaurants to chow down. This unique event has even been featured on the
Travel Channel’s Man vs. Food
Even though registration is sold out you can still be
involved in the Doughman Challenge. You can cheer on the participants on the
morning of the 26th (the race will start at 8:00 am), you can donate to their cause and support SEEDS, and you can
still join in the post-race fun and buy tickets for the Doughman
banquet hosted at Motorco Music Hall and featuring food and beverages from
around Durham.
