Get a Taste of a Warmer Place

It’s finally starting to get a little chilly here in the Triangle so to keep the wintertime blues from setting in visit one of Durham’s Cuban restaurants to get a taste of somewhere a little warmer. Old Havana Sandwich Shop and Cuban Revolution both provide a mix of authentic dishes and modern updates on Cuban classics.

Old Havana specializes in variations on the traditional Cuban sandwich and uses local, sustainably raised pork in many of their dishes. They also serve cafĂ© cubano and sweets all day and with their beautiful sunny dining room, it is the perfect place to stop for a mid-morning coffee break.

The menu at Cuban Revolution, in the American Tobacco Historic District, includes sandwiches, tapas, and a variety of Cuban entrees infused with African and Caribbean flavors. They also have a full bar that features tropical cocktails perfect for escaping from winter’s chill.
