November 2011 Events in the Triangle :: Rembrant

It’s not too early to start getting in the Christmas spirit! And with the Radio City Rockettes ( on stage at the Durham Performing Arts Center November 10th – 27th you won’t find a more exciting way to kick off the holiday season. This marks the first year that the Rockettes have come to the Triangle and you won’t want to miss their legendary performance of numbers such as Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, Christmas in New York, and the Living Nativity. With our What a Dinner and a Show Special you can enjoy a gourmet meal before you take in the Rockettes eye-high kicks and festive performance.

Running through January 22nd the North Carolina Museum of Art will host the exhibit Rembrandt in America. This collection of nearly 50 paintings represents the largest collection of Rembrandt’s works ever presented in America. It includes examples across several genres including portraits, character studies, historical and biblical scenes and self-portraits. The exhibition focuses the history of Rembrandt collecting in America and reveals the challenge of attribution, as many works that were thought to be Rembrandt’s have been determined to be those of other artists. Make your stay at the Arrowhead Inn truly memorable and ask your innkeeper to arrange for tickets to this must-see exhibition.
