Through December the Nasher Museum of Art (http://www.nasher.duke.edu/), located on the campus of Duke University is hosting two exhibits featuring female artists. The Deconstructive Impulse: Women Artists Reconfigure The Signs Of Power, 1973-1991 contains the work of 21 female artists and is designed to help reveal how women were portrayed in commercial art. Reviewer Carrie Moyer concluded that this collection is:
“a highly entertaining and groundbreaking exhibition that should be required viewing for anyone interested in the evolution of contemporary art.”
Through December 4th, several works by female artists in the Nasher Museum’s Collection will be showcased as well. Many additional exhibitions will be featured at the Nasher along with their permanent collections.
