Free Thurdays at the Nasher Museum of Art
2001 Campus Drive
Open Tuesday - Sunday
Free on Thursdays
5pm to 9pm
This time of year, the days are long, the nights are hot and everyone could use a little more time off.
So kick off your extended weekend stay at the Arrowhead Inn in Durham, North Carolina with a free, Thursday night trip to The Nasher Museum of Art.
The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University fosters the understanding and appreciation of the arts by directly introducing the campus and the greater Durham community to unique and rich works of visual art. The museum contains over 13,000 works including large collections of renaissance, African, classical Greek and Roman, and ancient American art. Contemporary exhibits rotate through two temporary galleries almost monthly.
While any day is a good day to visit The Nasher, try catching a glimpse of the Durham art community on a Thursday night this summer. Admission to the permanent and visiting exhibitions is free and you may be lucky enough to catch a live musical performance on the patio or take part in a curator conversation. Films are also shown on select evenings and special dining opportunities are offered during the month of August.
For a complete list of upcoming events, check the complete Free Thursdays Schedule.
Finish off your summer vacation with a little art and education! We hope to see you there!
